Maribor Branch Party - Crnich style

January 27th.  Branch Party.



We organized a branch fun & game night at the Church.  We played Crnich version of balloon vollyball (which was created 40 years ago in the kitchen at the Crnich home). 












The Church is in a small building with pretty limited activities space. 













But we were able to set up a table tennis tournament as well. 

Treats, of course and lots of laughter and fun.

Cooking with Žan

One of our fun activities is sharing a love of cooking with our young branch member, Žan.  He attends the Confectionery specific high school and we spent an afternoon together, while he taught me how to make traditional Slovene "Jaffee Slice" cookies.











In this part of the world, the last three years of high school are dedicated to a specifically declared major, i.e. auto mechanics, nursing, cooking, shop keeping, music.  You attend that school in that building with only the other students who have also declared that major.  If you don't pass the tests at the end of the school, you have one more year to try again. If you fail then, you have to pay back your fees!  Pretty good incentive to pass!
